SAM为三层，第一层是西雅图艺术历史展，主要介绍西雅图的艺术家，油画为主，跟日本艺术所占比例相比，中国成分几乎可以忽略，看来华裔艺术家要努力呀。不过，学了个新词【Koxinga】，觉得应该是【郑成功】的别称，后来一查，原来郑被南明小朝廷赐朱姓，台湾人尊称国姓爷，欧美人取其音拼作【Koxinga】。
二楼整层是印第安及原住民的艺术，这是补偿性的，总之是规模宏大。
三楼是葛饰北斋（Katsushika Hokusai）艺术展，期间也点缀几幅他学生或学习他风格的西洋画。

Iconic museum located in a scenic setting. Great place to learn every little detail about Seattle. Upon entering, I was immediately blown away by the massive main hall and the size of the artifacts and artworks being exhibited. The museum hosts an amazing collection of artifacts, methodically presented in a manner sure to captivate the visitor. I love the detail the museum put into their presentations, especially regarding the impact Seattle has globally through its industry and entrepreneurship. After coming to Seattle once a year for the past 5 years, I finally decided to check this place, and I'm wishing that I had done it sooner! This museum is a 'hidden gem' that's off the beaten path a bit away from the usual go-to spots of the Pike Place and the Space Needle, but that should not stop you from coming here. The museum offers a tremendous amount of learning opportunities about the history of Seattle and the surrounding areas from hundreds of years ago to the present time, showing how this areas greatest minds contributed to culture, science and technology in so many ways. I would not hesitate to come here again.
Note: Admission was free for me since I am a member at a museum out of state that is part of the Reciprocal Museums Program. It is a wonderful place to explore the rich history of the city and its many achievements. One of the highlights is the breathtaking view of Lake Union from the top floor, which adds an extra touch of beauty to the visit.
The museum features a decent cafeteria with ample space for a peaceful lunch. A great feature is that the cafeteria is open to the public, so you can enjoy it without needing an admission ticket.
The exhibits are fascinating, especially the innovation space and the kids’ area on the third floor. With activities like Legos, magnetic tiles, bridge-building, and other imaginative toys, it’s a great spot to keep kids entertained while inspiring creativity.

The Museum is a wonderful place to explore if you want to really understand Seattle. The exhibits tell the city’s story beautifully, from its roots in maritime and logging to its impact on aviation and technology. I especially enjoyed the Boeing gallery and the innovation exhibits, which make you realize how much creativity has come out of this region. The cultural and music displays were a great touch too, giving a sense of the city’s character beyond just industry. It was an incredible experience. I highly recommend this to anyone visiting or even living in Seattle. The free tour was the best part of the experience. Our tour guide, Mao, is so knowledgeable and a fantastic storyteller. I’ve been to wing Luke museum once. Just a self tour to see the Bruce Lee exhibition. This time, I took advantage of the free museum day (first Thursday of each month) and revisit the museum to see the “home” exhibition. (Online sign up is recommended.) Each artist drew an object that represent his / her culture. It can be food, well known local brand name or cultural activities. One of the artists showed his Filipino story via a jar of banana ketchup sauce. That’s an interesting one. Another artist used soda vending machine to talk about the Japanese culture.
Besides the “home” exhibition, I appreciated the reception told me about the guided historical tour. (3 times daily) I saw this tour in the community but I have never joined one. Mao is our tour guide, and he is a very knowledgeable educator. He talked about the 1882 Chinese exclusion act, showed us the Canton alley in Chinatown, the hidden home / hotel / dry food store / mutual aid association where the immigrants lived and worked and hung out. He mentioned that as an educator, he likes people to ask questions and engage in conversations. That’s true! Very interesting museum that covers the Asian Pacific growth in Seattle. The free tour of the museum building, including rooms occupied by residents and the local associations, plus a local store, was fascinating. Really gave a sense of what it was like. Guide was knowledgable and able to answer any questions. Special exhibits on the meaning of "home" were though provoking. Also did the tour of the INS building which is now used as artist's studios but you can definitely get the feeling of how it was used when it was a govt building. Seattle, perhaps fairly, does not have a reputation as a Mecca for the visual arts. As a relatively new city that did not exist until the middle of the 19th century, it does not have the great art historical heritage as a New York or a Philadelphia or a Boston, let alone the much older cities in Europe. Nonetheless, the fry offers quite a lovely collection of 19th century American and European art displayed in the style of the old salons, with the pictures all together. This is a way of display that is rather vintage and was already starting to fall out of style by the time some of these later paintings were made in the end of the 19th century, But it provides a kind of classical enlightenment elegance to the space. There are also collections of newer art displayed, and they seem to be relatively well chosen and a tasteful, and there is little that is ridiculous or fatuous, though they largely lack the care and the devoted artistry of the earlier pieces. This is not a large museum, and 1 hour is enough to see basically everything here, but I would recommend staying longer or making several trips to really spend more time with the art and appreciate it. The museum is free admission, so that should not be particularly hard. I actually came here when they were rotating out lost of their previous exhibits, so I really only got to see the Frye Salon and the gift shop. However, I still had a great time. The Frye Salon has one of the most well-curated and interesting collection of art I’ve ever seen. Every piece was so striking yet contemplative.
The museum architecture is pretty well-design, and the gift shop was well-curated with neat postcards of the artwork. There’s also a cute cafe and patio area in the back. The museum os free, which is amazing in this day and age.

Our family was traveling through Seattle and we love going to science centers. We spent the entire day from 10-5 exploring everything they have. Our kids really enjoyed the maker space area and butterfly exhibit. We also chose to see a couple of the laser shows that were free with our tickets. They were super cool. Really cool experience so much activities for everyone to enjoy! Although many areas are targeted towards kids, I did wish there were more adult centered events! I am unsure if they sell food inside but that also would’ve been nice to have, maybe there is a reason they don’t have a cafe or sell food.

There is a parking lot in the back. We paid $2 for one hour Inside is a gift shop and a coffee shop. Coffee was good. Pastries are also available. Some were gluten free. All unique and looked yummy. The service was fast and friendly.
The gift shop has unique items.... None that I saw were made by anyone of Nordic descent... I'm not sure why anyone would buy a souvenir claiming to represent a certain place, that is actually made in China, Thailand, Malaysia etc. I walked out.

Students and educators get in for free. There were three different expositions going on. Some of them, two of them I did not get. One was about the use of products that are a one time use and there is no reuse, reduce, recycle. There was another one with tires where you could seat and video of people walking around. Not my kind of art, but I could understand what their message was. The last one was a Mexican artist and poet. I liked the windows and the I enjoyed the art he had out. It was a bit too bare, not enough pieces but it was nice. I can't believe Seattle gets away with having such bad art museums. The permanent exhibit James Turrell Skyspace closed for at least a month becauss they are installing a temporary exhibit next to it. We drove an hour to see the James Turrell exhibit and it was closed. Instead we could see photos of buttholes. We enjoy visiting museums wherever we go but this was not it. The layout of the exhibit and the descriptions of the art pieces were confusing. We toured the whole place in 30 minutes. As some reviews have said, you are left wondering if that was it. The exhibits are too far apart from one another and don't quite translate well from one room to the next. Green Lake is one of my favorite spots in Seattle. The view of the lake is beautiful, specially in a sunny day, but it has its own unique beauty in every season of the year. There is a playground, community center with a play room, a wading pool (in summer) for kids. There is a ton of activities you can do: walking, running, biking, kayaking, playing pickle ball, fishing… even just sitting and enjoying the view, seeing the geese and ducks. It’s so relaxing! I visited this Museum. I was very impressed with the exhibit and all the Museum has put together to make black history come alive . With pictures and video screens you can relive the times from Silma Alabama to MLk walk for justice. I was also impressed my the structure outside the Museum as Michael Bennett who is also a part of the Northwest African American Museum along with Mass Timber constructed this building with the top outlined of a cross. When it's sunny the shadow of the cross you can see on the wall. I took many pictures please if ever you can go visit this Museum. Please know there is an entrance fee very reasonable I believe it's $8 dollars or so and yes I donated to this great Museum also. What a beautiful experience today. The Salma to Montgomery March was the main attraction. It was so powerful to step back in time and see the images alongside facts about those images. The true allies I observed made my heart sing...Jim Letherer with just one leg walked with his crutches in solidarity. That is the kind of ally ship I'm trying to give.
So many other wonderful displays to point to the thousands of contributions made by men and women of African descent from hundreds of years ago - to their ancestors who are making a difference today, right here in their community, really made me joyful.
I can't wait to take my husband and kids soon. I only took 2 pictures because I was so immersed by everything. These two photos must have some deep meaning inside my soul...

AN EXCELLENT MUSEUM I’m a black man from the east coast (baltimore) and if you’re from an area like mine and find yourself in seattle you’re likely to ask yourself “where are my people” and really this is an excellent place to be. This museum really has done a great job of showing the hope, sprit, and resilience that black people who where going west traveled with, from the history of the building itself down to the many artistic piece’s on display this museum has an excellent change of pace in regards to what I’m used to seeing and emotions I’m used to feeling after leaving black history museums that touch on slavery and hardships. all in all an excellent place and if you’re into black history and or feeling a little lonely its an excellent place to be at

The Selma exhibit consisting of photos documenting this event 60 years ago is outstanding. However this museum is small and lacks depth...yet it inspired me to discover more. I was particularly moved by a photo honoring a white pastor, who gave his life for this cause. This museum is not open everyday and there was no free admission on first Thursday of the month. However the admission was nominal. Within the Museum they have a family room I saw a mom with her young baby looking through a library of books on the shelves and sharing stores with her baby. I saw people of mixed nationalities at the museum there is so much information pictures , TV screens with videos capturing the events of the times of Black History. Found pretty interesting for a Wednesday 1:00 pm game and the entry was super long line up. We were at the game 30 minutes after the start. This could be improved. It is the experience and we loved it all but really didn’t like how the parking around the park was not only ridiculously expensive also impossible to find one 20 minutes before start.

We love this park! Not a bad seat in the house. The bleechers actually have a better view than the club level! Always a great game, great food but make sure you bring a small mortgage with you. Even if you're not drinking. Bathrooms are usually always clean too! Great for a date night or weekend adventure with the family. Plenty of room for your badass kids to run!

Neat and free museum about Seattle's early days and the Gold Rush 🤠💰 We just got back from a cruise to Alaska, and this museum is better than the one we explored in Skagway. They have way more artifacts and exhibits to see how life was in the late 1800s. Many interesting real-life stories of ordinary people and what they experienced.
As a free museum, it's one of the coolest ways to burn some time as you wait for your hotel or the clock to move along.

First time checking out Sam’s Tavern, and I’ve got to say—the burger and fries crushed it.
When you first walk in, you’re not really sure what to expect, but the staff is super friendly and the vibe is fun and laid-back.
They’ve also got a pretty cool history. I looked it up and learned that Red Robin actually started as Sam’s Tavern back in the 1940s in Seattle’s college party scene. The owner, Sam, was part of a quartet and loved singing “When the Red, Red Robin Comes Bob, Bob, Bobbin’ Along.” That inspired him to rename the place Sam’s Red Robin. In 1969, “Sam’s” was dropped, the menu expanded, and those over-the-top burgers started drawing fans from all over. The concept eventually grew into Red Robin restaurants nationwide.

This is the second time I’ve ordered the 1+1 deal with no cheese, and both times my order came with cheese. This place is a fantastic destination for kids of all ages, offering a wide variety of activities to keep little ones engaged and entertained for the entire day. From pretend play in the farmers market shopping counters to exploring the US mail truck and fire truck, the interactive exhibits provide endless opportunities for imaginative play.
One of our favorite sections was the art and craft area, which offers abundant materials to foster creativity and create memorable experiences for young minds. The construction and building zones are equally impressive, combining fun and learning as kids experiment and construct. The camping area, complete with a cave and engaging wildlife and nature displays, was another highlight of our visits.
We’ve been here a couple of times and always spend a full day exploring. The museum’s direct connection via the monorail is a huge plus, especially on rainy days, and the cafeteria above the museum level offers plenty of food options for a convenient break. However, parking can be tricky and expensive, so I highly recommend taking the monorail or a bus.

The Seattle Children’s Museum is really fun, with many great sections for kids to explore and enjoy. There are interactive exhibits, creative play areas, and plenty of activities that keep children engaged and learning while having a great time. It’s a wonderful place for families to spend a day together.

Cute little place you can come with children! We got in with a really good price because my sister is a teacher and she has insurances for kids; otherwise it could be a little pricey without any discounts.
They have multiple areas with different themes. The toys provided are based on each theme. It could be super fun for kids, and you can definitely spend a whole day here if you are willing to. You can get a stamp on your hand or keep your receipt for reentry. You can find food court with multiple food choices in the same building upstairs (you’ll have to leave the museum to get there).
If you see your child putting certain toys in the mouth, you are supposed to put the toys in a designated area. They are supposed to do a good job sanitizing the toys regularly to make sure they are always clean for all children.

Fantastic museum! The first floor is more typical computer exhibits of the latest computer tech advances. They have a cool section recreating life and environment of the 80's such as a classroom. They also have a VR demo station. The top floor though has some of the most impressive items. There is an actual apple I built by the two Steve's that you can actually type and interact with. This place is incredible. The fact that all the computers are still functional AND you can play with them is amazing. As a computer geek, I could have spent a week here. The highlight of my visit was playing with the FUNCTIONAL Apple I upstairs. I’d seen one before at Google’s computer museum but it was collecting dust behind glass. This place truly deserves 10 stars because it is truly the most exceptional museum I’ve ever visited as a technology geek and museum enthusiast. This beats out every other museum in town and is one of the only museums in the world with such a comprehensive collection of working computers from every decade. I easily spent almost 5 hours here and didn’t even get to spend as much time as I would have liked at each station. They were previewing a documentary on the Apple Newton which was extremely interesting and they even invited some of the key figures in the Newton project to come up and answer questions. Extremely exceptional staff and the entrance fee is completely reasonable for the amount of living history you are able to explore. They also have shown off some new technologies like app based drag and drop robots that are able to be programmed to VR, to an old arcade set, to a telepresence robot that you can drive around. It truly is heaven for geeks and non-geeks alike. The first floor seemed mostly for kids but did have a retro arcade (free to play the games) an old school room setup and living room from the ~80s era filled with all the period furniture and tech. The second floor was really awesome for anyone over 20. It had tons of old machines running old software and almost all of it was hands on. First Thursdays of the month are free 5-8PM. Three hours is not nearly enough to experience everything here. There's quite a few old computer systems including tons of games and software from back in the day. You can play timeless classics like Space War, Oregon Trail, Pong, Asteroids, etc from tons of old systems. The mainframe room is pretty cool with live systems. Also you can play chess against a super computer and if you win, get your picture in the hall of fame!
There's also new technology including a VR demo, robot building blocks, and video game development stations. What a neat place. The Longhouse portion is entirely wooden, with historical photos and artwork on the walls. I can only imagine how glorious it is to attend community functions in the Longhouse.

A great medium size all ages venue in downtown Seattle just across the street from Pike Place Market. The Original downtown Showbox is a great venue for Seattle local bands. This is the third time I have been in and really enjoyed myself. Pretty much hung out at the bar area with quite a few friends. The house Rum and Cokes are on the expensive side. Something you would expect to pay for a higher end rum drink. I noticed each time on my bill was an environment tax which is probably another ridiculous thing you find in Seattle. You can order water at the bar bottled and for a cost. Or you can get a free glass of water at the end of the bar which is room temperature with tap water flavor. The staff is friendly and helpful. We were in listening to Wyatt and the wreckage and his 10th anniversary tour. An awesome venue!! I love an intimate venue and this one checks out. We got food at the bar beforehand and all enjoyed, great portions for very reasonable prices. The bathrooms were easily accessible, clean and none of us had to wait in a line which is great. We parked less than a block away in a pay-to-park lot and there were plenty of spots to choose from. My friend and I stayed for two nights and we were thrilled with our choice of hotel. We are both mothers that are past the “night life” stage of our lives and we were pleased that the noise level was never a concern. Although, ear plugs are left in the rooms and available at the desk.
My friend accidentally left her Kindle behind when we checked out and Brooke was very helpful with making sure that we got that back into our possession before my friend caught her flight home.
The location of the hotel was also within walking distance from all of the attractions that we were drawn to, but Ubers were also quick to get us when we didn’t feel like walking anymore.

Neumos is what has always been, a decent venue for artist that aren't at the showbox. Its standing room only on the ground floor and a few tables that fill up quick on the 2nd floor. 1st floor can get packed. But they do a good job of keeping airflow going and the restrooms are clean. Its a great place for a show on the hill but showbox is a lot bigger. The line to get in easily wraps around the building so its nice that there are lots of places nearby to wait for the line to go down. Audio mixing can be really hit or miss though. Overall if you have an artist you want to see here, its worth it since you can get really close to the stage. The Seattle Pinball Museum is such a cool spot — the collection of machines is incredible, ranging from vintage classics to modern pinball games with lights, sound effects, and so much character. The unlimited play admission makes it easy to bounce around and enjoy everything without worrying about quarters, and the atmosphere inside is fun, nostalgic, and unique.
That said, the person at the front counter really didn’t match the vibe of the place (went on an early Saturday evening). He came off as rude and dismissive, which was disappointing considering how upbeat the rest of the experience is. If you’re going to be the face of a pinball museum, it would be great to have someone who’s enthusiastic and welcoming. First impressions matter to me, and it just didn’t fit with the energy inside.
I was also disappointed not to see the Foo Fighters pinball machine in the lineup — it feels like such a natural fit for a place like this (being in Seattle). Hopefully they add it in the future.

Located in Chinatown, the Seattle Pinball Museum is a fun place to take kids of all ages. After paying an entry fee per person, you are allowed to play on any of the pinball machines or old school video games the museum houses. Basically this is an arcade with some brand new pinball machines and others that date back to the late 1950's. Along one wall are classic tables from 1959 to 1971. There are pinball games from the 1980's up through the present day. There are more pinball machines upstairs in addition to a few classic video games like Ms. Pac-Man, Missile Command, and Sea Wolf. No doubt, I will attend another one of the Candlelight performances! The venue was perfect and it was quite obvious that a lot went into creating the setting for the show. The musicians were the best! Their interactions with one another (both subtle and not-so-subtle) really added to the intimacy of their performance! Since living in Seattle for three years, I have been making my rounds through all of the museums in the city and the ones that I thought I would love and the ones I thought I wouldn’t have completely surprised me and been about opposite of expected.
This museum is unique, pretty small and you’ll only spend about 30 minutes to an hour here. To be honest it felt more kitchy and like a craft museum more than art, at least when I visited in February 2023. Don’t get me wrong I love both. I love doing crafts and I love art but I need to know what to expect concept wise before a museum and after visiting this museum, I realize that I’m much more of a fan of fine art. It didn’t even really feel like a modern art, and again, more crafty. Which is fine, but definitely not what I was expecting.
The exhibits here felt like grasping at straws with the meaning, there was an exhibit with a lot of selfies on top of random americana items, which just gave me like Instagram cringe. I’m a millennial but the selfie obsession is my worst nightmare. Another exhibit had really fun colors, but looks like it was made in Microsoft paint when you’re im elementary school and wasting time in class. A lot of the exhibits felt that they could’ve been done by almost anyone which is maybe the point, that everybody should do art, and you don’t have to necessarily be extremely skilled and blessed at oil painting or sculpting etc beyond most people’s abilities. After much reflection, I decided to review this hidden gem in Seattle. My son and I made
Same day online reservations for a Monday afternoon viewing while dining at a nearby Irish bar.
When you enter the lobby before the elevator, you will go back in time to see and hear how Smith Tower came to be, with photos, exhibits, and interactive items.
You then take the classic gilded elevator with an operator to the 35th floor, where a beautiful Speak Easy bar and restaurant await you. You then walk to the open but gated 360-degree observation deck of the city and bay. My son and I were the only two tourists there for almost 30 minutes. It's windy, so watch your hat and your phone.
After the observatory, we had superbly made cocktails and enjoyed conversation with our server in the restaurant. He said the venue is busier during the summer season, when many cruisers visit.
I wanted to keep it a secret because other locals had mentioned how much nicer and less crowded it was than the needle. It is so lovely and classy, and it was a good experience so I had to share.

This was actually my second time visiting the Smith Tower, but it was my boyfriend’s first and since he’s already been up the Space Needle, I wanted to show him that this historic spot also offers some seriously cool views of Seattle. What’s even more impressive is that at one point, Smith Tower was actually the tallest skyscraper in the West!
One thing I love about this place is how well they’ve preserved its old-school charm, especially the elevators. They still have an operator who manually controls the lift, and there’s even a display of the original green Otis elevator motor in the lobby, the same kind that powered the elevators for over a century!
The operator told us there’s a tenant who lives above the observatory, which blew my mind. The rent was originally a whopping $17,000 a month, but the tenant apparently negotiated down to $14,000 since there’s no A/C up there. Talk about living in style with a historic discount!
Once you reach the top, there’s a bar where you can grab a cocktail and enjoy the view. As you walk around the observatory deck, there are plaques pointing out different Seattle landmarks, so you can easily spot everything from Mt. Rainier to Lumen Field and Lake Washington. It makes the 360 deg view even more interactive and helps you appreciate just how much of the city you can see from up there.
Pro tip: They don’t open until noon, so if you’re planning to go early, you’ll end up waiting downstairs. I have wanted to visit the historic Smith Tower for the longest time and finally got the opportunity. As a Washington resident, my cost was a reasonable $10. It was easy to purchase from a kiosk upon entry. I love old buildings and this one didn’t disappoint. The Smith building was Seattle's first skyscraper and once was the tallest building west of the Mississippi River. Tickets are required to reach the observation deck or have a drink in the bar on the top floor. Along the hallways leading to the last elevator that is an express to the top of the Smith building is a series of rooms that host period pieces of equipment like a switchboard and a display featuring the office of Mr. Smith who built the building and was a partner in the Smith Corona typewriter company. You ride to the observation deck in the building's original elevator (that has been updated with modern equipment). You can still see each floor through the metal cage of the elevator car and use the original handle that used to move the cables suspending the cage. There is even an elevator operator dressed in the wardrobe of the 1920's. From the top deck you can see all around the downtown skyline and out over the Seattle docks and ferry piers. As you take in the views you are transported back in time when bootleggers and speak easy's provided the backdrop for the businesses that occupied various office space in the Smith building. Climate Pledge Arena is genuinely one of the most impressive re-modelling projects that’s ever been made in sports. The current arena doesn’t resemble Key Arena at all, in the best way possible. Much easier to access by public transit than I thought it would be before opening. Have never had much issues getting into the stadium, staff and ushers seem to be genuinely happy and helpful. Concourses are open and spacious, lines are never bad except for bathrooms. Having been here for concerts and games both as a fan and as a media member the Climate Pledge staff works tirelessly to give you the best experience possible. Parking can be an issue but that's true everywhere in Seattle. I typically just go to a pay lot rather than wasting time on street parking. Food and drinks are what you'd expect from the stadium although if you get their VIP packages and/or up in the suites the food is great. Fantastic staff, so friendly and helpful! I attended the Tate McRae concert with my daughter and had recent knee surgery. My seats were supposed to be for “limited mobility”, but my knee still couldn’t bend. The staff escorted my daughter and I over to ticketing, which were also super nice! First time at the venue, and I was really impressed. It’s clean, modern, and has such a great atmosphere. The layout and design make the space feel spacious, and the vibe throughout the game was fun and energetic. Our seats were good which gave us a full perspective of all the action.

Took a short cruise in Seattle and it turned out to be one of the highlights of the trip. The views were absolutely stunning—from the city skyline to the surrounding mountains and water, everything was picture-perfect. It offered a unique perspective of Seattle that you just can’t get from land.

I honestly didn’t even want to take the cruise because I get seasick, and our plan was to use the CityPASS for the science center—but it turned out to be closed while we’re here. Argosy Cruises’ harbor guided tour from the Seattle waterfront was an exceptional experience. The staff provided excellent service, assisting my mom with pre-boarding and making her feel comfortable as a disabled guest. The facilities included an elevator and clean, comfortable restrooms, which made the whole trip very accessible. There were great deals on drinks; the margarita and the signature blue cocktail were delicious and worth trying. The tour guide was incredibly descriptive and kept everyone engaged with fascinating insights about the city and harbor. It was my first time on a cruise, and it was such a wonderful experience. The tour lasted about an hour and was guided, which made it even more interesting. The narrator, Emma, was very knowledgeable and delivered an impressive presentation despite the wicked wind.

Gorgeous view on the Washington State Ferry
I was enjoying my destination to Seattle on the Washington State ferry from Bainbridge Island ferry. I haven’t taken the ferry since the pandemic so it was a real treat. Unfortunately the cafe is closed and there is limited beverages to get in the vending machines.
But the view is worth it
I hope in the future that the cafe will reopen. They normally serve great tatter tots and sandwiches on the ferry
